Traffic Calming Meeting, Tuesday, May 20, 2008 Southern Hills Baptist Church

Many neighbors have expressed concerns about speeding and traffic flow in our neighborhood. To address these concerns, we are holding a meeting with the City of Tulsa Traffic Engineering department to discuss traffic calming measures in our neighborhood. The meeting will be:

Tuesday, May 20, 2008, 7:00 pm
Southern Hills Baptist Church, 56th and Lewis

(Park in the west parking lot and enter through the doors marked Southwest Entrance. We'll be meeting in the chapel.)

Michael Schrader, Traffic Control Engineer from the City of Tulsa, will be attending to gather information from our neighbors about streets and intersections that have speeding and traffic flow problems. He will take a comprehensive look at our neighborhood and discuss options such as speed humps, street closings, stoplights and other traffic control measures. Michael will also give us an update on the speed humps that are scheduled to be installed next to Heller Park.

We have also invited a representative from ODOT (Oklahoma Department of Transportation) to attend and answer questions about I-44 widening in our area. However, ODOT has not yet confirmed whether or not someone will be able to attend. We are hoping to get more information from ODOT about the timeframe for I-44 expansion, the sound wall, the entrance and exit ramps and street closings.

We hope to see you there!
